It's good to see you back! Hopefully, you're not in too much pain at this point? Our neighbors used to have my "special tree" in their backyard, but it had to be taken down earlier this year. Now a tree across the street and down a couple of houses has taken it's place. It's trying to put on a good show, but it's not the same.
What's on my mind today? 2 things: first, the cold weather. it's in the 20s here. In a few weeks, that'll feel like summer, but at this point, I'm not ready yet. Second is the UVA mass shooting. At this point, you'd think I'd be numb to them all, but this one is really hitting home for some reason. Maybe 'cause they're not a whole lot older than my oldest son? I dunno.
Thanks Kevin! The cast ("the purple warrior" I called it) has been replaced with a wrist guard now, and I've started physical therapy, so things are looking up.
I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one with a "special tree" situation! It is getting really chilly here as well, and it feels especially worse because it's pitch black at 4:45, right?
And I am right there with you about the UVA school shooting...
Very nice to see more Morning After Thoughts! I guess it would depend on the hero, but a couple evergreen hero questions for me would be: What is the last great book you read? [and] Have you had any memorable dreams lately, and if so, could you talk about one of them. And regarding the easing of student loan debt, it’s a complicated and thorny issue, where a Trump-appointed judge (or judges) is at least temporarily halting the process. It’s pretty sad, but I still have a glimmer of home that it will be resolved in a way that will be beneficial to many of those millions. Welcome back!
I love the dream question! And as much as I hope you're correct about the student debt issue resolving for the millions who need it, I don't have much hope in the system.
I admire your perseverance in continuing to write while your wrist is in a cast. May the healing continue. 🤗 Flukes are a mystery.
I agree, the leaves have been vibrant and beautiful in Western Mass. Sadly, once those colors fade we know what comes next. 🥶
We had a massive, old maple tree in our backyard that was spectacular to look at. Unfortunately, it was diseased and it eventually fell. I remember hearing a thunderous crack. (Thank goodness no one was hurt or houses damaged). Now we have wild greenery to look at. Nature is amazing.
Very cool about the Podcast. Hero questions:
1. If you could invite three famous people to dinner, whom would you invite? (Either living or dead).
2. What countries would you visit over and over again?

Glad to see you back on here. Much love. 💚🌻🥰
Thank you so much! And I'm sorry about your maple tree, but you're right about nature being amazing.
