Hello friends, and welcome back to Morning After Thoughts! It’s been a bit, and I’m so glad you’re here. One reason I’ve been absent from this creative and wonderful space is because I broke my dominant wrist falling in a divot-like hole on my lawn while playing cornhole in October. A fluky unfortunate event. Daily activities like putting on socks, washing dishes, or writing were nearly impossible. The infamous cornhole game, like many things these days, is in limbo…

The autumn foliage was vibrantly spectacular in Western Massachusetts this year. I’ve been taking pics of a tree across the street in seasonal transitions since I moved to this home last October… A year in the life. Did the foliage seem to strike you more this year than others? Do you have a special tree? Maybe I’m just appreciating the beauty of being in the countryside, or I’m losing my mind.
I have the opportunity to ask a major hero of mine a question on their podcast in the coming days! This surprise came to me completely out of the blue, and I am so nervously excited. If you could ask a living hero of yours one question, what would it be? (And I will share the podcast when it airs!)
And lastly, I leave you with this to ponder: What is balance of power when one hypocritical wanker takes away a small relief from 26 million fellow Americans? Asking for a friend…
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what’s on your mind today?
I admire your perseverance in continuing to write while your wrist is in a cast. May the healing continue. 🤗 Flukes are a mystery.
I agree, the leaves have been vibrant and beautiful in Western Mass. Sadly, once those colors fade we know what comes next. 🥶
We had a massive, old maple tree in our backyard that was spectacular to look at. Unfortunately, it was diseased and it eventually fell. I remember hearing a thunderous crack. (Thank goodness no one was hurt or houses damaged). Now we have wild greenery to look at. Nature is amazing.
Very cool about the Podcast. Hero questions:
1. If you could invite three famous people to dinner, whom would you invite? (Either living or dead).
2. What countries would you visit over and over again?
Glad to see you back on here. Much love. 💚🌻🥰
Very nice to see more Morning After Thoughts! I guess it would depend on the hero, but a couple evergreen hero questions for me would be: What is the last great book you read? [and] Have you had any memorable dreams lately, and if so, could you talk about one of them. And regarding the easing of student loan debt, it’s a complicated and thorny issue, where a Trump-appointed judge (or judges) is at least temporarily halting the process. It’s pretty sad, but I still have a glimmer of home that it will be resolved in a way that will be beneficial to many of those millions. Welcome back!
