Canned sardines! Love it. The other night I made a chef's salad (actually a bunch of lettuces in a bowl), topped with canned sardines. It's a quick weeknight special around here. We get fresh sardines around here in the fish store, but I usually wait til grilling season for those!

But, with Season (brand) "wild and sustainable" canned sardines in extra virgin olive oil. And maybe some fresh mozzerella.

Hi Wayne, I'm must admit I'm going through a canned sardines in extra-virgin olive oil phase! Very good! (And this is way off topic, but for a personal vinyl project I'm working on, I just stumbled on a Columbia Records installment of The Inner Sleeve [Volume 73 A3] on which you are Associate Editor. I love those... and they stand the test of time! This one includes Paul Simon, Clifford Brown, and Mott the Hoople. --Littlefire David)

I thought it was so cool and telling how engaged and serious Chef José was while discussing veganism with you, even though he isn't a full-time vegan. As you say, Jess, he gives us all extra hope... and he's making the world a better place. I very much appreciated your conversation!
