A personal highlight of the last few (very difficult) years is having the opportunity to chat with José Andrés. I so admire Chef’s passionate worldview on food and his larger-than-life personality. For the special 15 minutes online, we talked about many things from favorite soccer teams to Anthony Bourdain and more. (I was so nervous!) He seriously came alive through my laptop screen, an amazing experience. Canned sardines! Love it. The other night I made a chef's salad (actually a bunch of lettuces in a bowl), topped with canned sardines. It's a quick weeknight special around here. We get fresh sardines around here in the fish store, but I usually wait til grilling season for those!
