I re-read your Open Letter to Anthony Bourdain, and it gets better all the time. I love your nuances and appreciation for Tony, and you bring scenes, like that noodles-and-beer meal with President Obama, to life with such grace. Thank you for helping me better understand Tony and his genius. Oh, and I am so impressed that you can read a 500-page book, cover to cover, in a day! (Wish I could read 50 page in a day.) And how about those crazy wind gusts? I can just see all your things blowing in the wind... just like the answers to so many questions.

Love Bourdain. His rawness and authenticity is epic.

100% agree. A true storyteller until the very end.

You and Tony are kindred spirits. If you had met, it would have been one hell of a debate between veganism and his very meaty ways, all over a finally poured drink. It would have been a beautiful thing to witness. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, and it would have been beautiful! And there would have been way more than one finally poured drink.

I can visualize you & Tony toasting and chatting about tofu!

Your open letter is powerful and raw. Such an engaging read.

Those wind gusts did appear quickly…maybe Tony was stirring the pot.

Here’s to Tony and may he continue to guide us on our travels. 🥃 🌻💚

What I loved was how much he realized food was community and caring. When people fed him, I could see the gratitude. He was an amazing writer and storyteller. I’m forever grateful for what he brought to the world. I only do nonstop flights because I’m not enough of a badass for a 24-hour layover.

I love your appreciation for him. (And there have been many 24-hour layovers in my life, but I honestly didn’t leave the airport for most of them.)

He was brave to do that and I appreciated it. Maybe I’ll try it one day.

This is such a beautiful tribute to a man who truly lived large and wide open in his own skin, without apology. So genuine, so real. May we all be so brave. I am so sorry for your loss, for our loss.

Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words. And yes, to us all being so brave.
