Happy Friday, and welcome to the second installment of (missing) travel adventures in Morning After Thoughts. What's on your mind this morning? Here we go, Day 28!
Very nice photo and reflections on Barcelona. I wonder if and when study abroad for college students will regain the vibrancy it had pre-pandemic. I hope it does. As for a city I once loved more than I do now, I guess it would also be one with a B. I have so many indelible memories of visiting Boston, going to school there and seeing great concerts and ballgames. But it's lost some of its youthful magic, for me at least.
Thank you so much, and I do not know about the vibrancy of study abroad right now. Boston will definitely be a city I reflect on soon. :) Thanks for sharing your comment and memories!
Barcelona is alive and well! The key is getting away from most tourist spots (tho' they are all pretty great) and getting local with the greatest part of the city--the people! Nicest, openest, smartest I've met. I've been going there twice a year for 30 years, and unlike most cities, Barcelona gets better by the year with more parks, mass transit, green people places. Bonus: all around the city are great villages full of Guadi and his students' work, beaches, mountains, Art Deco vineries, medieval settings and fine food! They combine the ancient and the modern better than anyone.
I love a good rooftop bar with a view! ❤️❤️❤️. Also, I completely agree about La Sagrada Familia. You feel the connection between nature and humans and God like no other place on earth (man made). 😍😍😍

Love your enthusiasm for Barcelona! Maybe I’d fall back in love with the city if I went on one of your trips to there! Perhaps one day in the future…
Si si one fine day!!! We leave in 4 weeks for another great Sapin adventure. With an outside chance to meet Nuno in Portugal.
Oh I’m so so jealous! I absolutely am obsessed with Portugal! And please send our love to Nuno, he makes a seriously good vino!

Yes and yes to everything you said!
Beautiful photo. 🇪🇸 Your description helps visualize the city. Guess we won’t be visiting there together?
Thank you! And… you never know!
