Wedding Talk, Part One. 032222
Today and tomorrow are going to be a little different here because tonight is the eve of my wedding anniversary aka SNUGFEST. What's on your mind this morning? Day 25!
I am so grateful that we had our wedding pre-pandemic. Hopefully the planned love celebrations this summer will feel safe, and we can go. How many Zoom weddings happened during the last couple of years?!
The SNUGFEST 2019 rehearsal went so smoothly, but a rehearsal does not guarantee everything going that way during the ceremony the next day. What do I mean? Well during the real ceremony:
My chuppah lights were never turned on!
My dad forgot his boutonniere.
My husband never said, “I love you” in his vows.
And now, a poem!
‘Twas the night before SNUGFEST three years ago
Everybody was high, nobody felt low
Hotel Northampton was shining with lights
And people flew in from all over, on all different flights
The chuppah was built, the rehearsal went grand
Music was performed by Eric Lee and Banish Misfortune, an Irish band
Celebrations commenced at Tunnel Bar on this night
And people were so happy, their smiles sparkling bright
Friends were made from many walks of life
And all of them cheering for Jess to become Joel’s wife
Let us not forget those happy times (and please forgive my silly rhymes)
For hugs and joy will happen after all we have seen
So tonight, we will toast to SNUGFEST 2019
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind first thing in the morning? Welcome to a safe space to reflect light on three things and share in comments. Happy reading, writing, and connecting!
Cheers,
Jess
And I wrote them down and everything. I love you Mrs Snugs!!!
Love the couplets and the poem! Those were quite the days, three years ago yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Here's to many many more good ones for The Snugs!!
