Trusting Your Instincts 042522
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind today? Welcome to a space to reflect light on three things, and please share if you're comfortable doing so. Day 56!
Chatting with a girlfriend over the phone the other night she mentioned something along the lines of, “Trust your instincts because that’s your soul whispering to you.” I know in reality it’s more like the neurons in my gut and brain communicating, but it’s an intriguing concept! Thoughts?
My instincts right now are telling me it’s too early to gallivant, travel, and party, as much as I want to do this so badly. A little more patience, and perhaps I will almost be there. The internal battles with myself.
Speaking of internal battles, another topic that came up in the same conversation with my girlfriend was the idea of involuntarily taking on the strife of others. How do you nicely stop being a sounding board for constant negative bullshit? Monday... A day for pondering such things.
Tomorrow I’ll get back to reminiscing about vegan and boozy travel adventures abroad! What on your mind today?
The “gut feeling,” is very strong and I let it be a guide for me. Sometimes it’s too powerful to ignore.
When toxicity is prevalent, It’s important to look inward and do what’s right for you. No time for negativity from others. 🌻💚🌈
And, we always leave the dandelions alone for the honey bees. 🐝
I'm loving the Bright Yellow Dandelion photo! Beautiful!! And I've long been a firm believer in the "trust your instincts" department. It was a boss I had (in fact the best boss I ever had), who said those words to me when I presented her with a ticklish legal issue when I was executive editor of a national magazine. She trusted me and encouraged me to trust my own decision-making in tough or potentially ambiguous situations. That was a couple decades ago, and her words have imbedded themselves in my decision-making process... and have always rung true. Thank you Lisa for your words of wisdom, and thank you Jess for all your wisdom. You have excellent instincts, and I will always encourage you to trust them.
