The Heart of Saturday Night 031222 (Yes, that's my favorite Tom Waits album.)
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind first thing in the morning? Welcome to a safe space to reflect light on three things and share. Here we go, day 15.
My father shared with me that his four grandparents came from Poland, Russia, Lithuania, and Ukraine, and that makes him a second-generation American. Or is it third? Up for debate.
Speaking of “Being American” I’m having a bit of a struggle with my house location in vicinity to Trump flags and tattered American flags waving in the wind on the tree hedges next to me. My husband says, “Develop a mental tactic to ignore it because we love this house.” This is true, but I’m finding it hard.
I miss the Palace Bar and The Long Hall in Dublin. I miss the craic.
Bonus thought - I got a bit of buzz yesterday about me wanting to fuck someone other than my husband in yesterday’s edition of Morning After Thoughts. If you want to know more about men and women I desire, you can read all about my late-20s in my book, For Better And Worse here! Or let me know, and I’ll send you a personally signed copy.
What’s on your mind this morning? Even if you’re still in bed, share in the comment section your own Morning After Thoughts, and then together we can all move forward with our day. Happy reading, writing, and connecting!
Cheers,
Jess
I love that photo with the Salon kitchen, your boutique sign, and Fitz in the background. I'm 100 percent with your hubby re those flags. They're rarely visible to passers by and just not worth the energy. And I'm a big fan of your book! So many beautifully told and totally honest stories. For Better And Worse. (Full disclosure: Yours is an excellent choice, but my fave Tom Waits album is Rain Dogs.)
A properly poured pint of Guinness at The Long Hall is definitely missing from our lives Mrs Snugs 😥🍺
