Sunday (fuzzy) Afternoons 032722
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind first thing in the morning? Here we go, Day 30! (Whooo, 30 days straight!)
This isn’t one of my sprinkle of travel memories post, but more of a reminiscence of Sundays in Dublin. My husband starts playing Irish ditties on the guitar for me around 11:30 am. (Right now he’s strumming and singing “Dirty Old Town.”) He takes my head and my heart 3,000 miles away to Sunday afternoons at The Brazen Head. The oldest (and one of my favorite) pubs in all of Ireland serving up spectacular drinks, food, and most importantly, traditional Irish music. Mr. Snugs and his playing are so charming here is Western, MA, all we need is a pint of the black stuff.
Before Mr. Snugs and I moved to the mountains we felt pretty stifled as far as, well, everything. But now that we have more air to breathe and space to roam, perhaps an outdoor concert in our yard will happen when the weather gets warmer. I was never one for prayers, but throughout the last couple of years I have changed a bit on that. (Maybe hospital comas do that to humans?) Do I believe prayers work? Who knows, maybe it’s more like I’m making wishes. I’m wishing for this summer to be musical.
If you get Whole Foods bags delivered, do you notice how they always have stickers with funny words on them? Today mine all say, “fuzzy.” Anyway, happy (fuzzy) Sunday!
What’s on your mind today? Welcome to a safe space to reflect light on three things, and please share in comments.
Cheers,
Jess
Wow, 30 days went by quickly. So glad you took me to The Brazen Head…fantastic memories (those fries and Vegan chili)! And, yes, here’s to summer 2022. 💚🌻💚🌻
Nice Sunday MATs. Fuzzy is good! And very nice picture and memories of Sundays in Dublin. Prayers? I appreciate people who pray from the heart, and I know more than a few good people who do.
