Showering instead of writing... 032622
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind first thing in the morning? Here we go, Day 29!

Above are our anniversary cupcakes created by my mom this week. The same flavor profile as our four-tiered gold embossed wedding cake from 2019, which was spectacular, but her cupcakes are somehow even more delicious! We started chatting about how after two years of making everything from scratch, how will our systems react if we start getting takeout from our favorite local spots or in the future going out to them again? Thoughts, experiences?
I had the most repetitive and sweat-producing dream last night that I was in an office where I couldn’t get anything done. I don’t know if it’s because I was thinking about my old job with Barcelona yesterday or because I was watching Severance before bed. Maybe both? But I needed to shower asap when I woke up. Self-care, household cleaning, and writing “Morning After Thoughts” seem to take me much longer these days when I’m foggy-headed and need to shower in the mornings now. (This didn’t happen when I showered daily and went to an office pre-pandemic.) Are you facing anything similar?
Joel says to me, “Do you hear that cheep cheep cheep sound?! The birds are about to get busy this Spring here!” The sweet and loud sounds of mating calls…
What’s on your mind today? Welcome to a safe space to reflect light on three things, and please share in comments. Happy Saturday.
Cheers,
Jess
Let the birds sing! And oh how good those cupcakes look. Yikes! As far as showers, I'm not as big a fan of them as most people. I wonder how many showers, females vs. males, people take each week these days. Two a week is pretty much good for me. Am I unusual? Okay, now Tom Jones will be stuck in my head all day. Very nice MATs today Jess!
That cake was spectacular, but your mom has definitely perfected the art of vegan baking 😍😍😍
