From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind first thing in the morning? Welcome to a space to reflect light on three things from the night before.
Let's connect and share. Day two.
While it seems much of the world has moved on from Covid, I unfortunately cannot quite yet. I have a cavity in my right lung and an autoimmune condition that prevents me from fully embracing the world of people and travel at this time. (I spent this summer on an intubator in a medically-induced coma in the ICU, I was fully vaxxed. So how did it get to the point where I ended up this way? Because I could not get treatment, a surgeon, or a bed at the hospital due to the overwhelming masses of sickness around me.) I put blame on the selfishness of others who seem incapable of believing that other people exist with their refusal to get vaccinated or wear masks in the name of “freedom.” This picture above was from my last trip to Ireland before the pandemic. (It’s been an annual pilgrimage for me, traveling to Dublin every January.) I will be back soon I hope.
That scratch-made pizza last night was a success! As was the Taylor Swift/Clarence Carter dance party my family had in our kitchen.
I know some people have “cancelled” Woody Allen, but I’m watching Midnight in Paris this morning because I’m not going to deprive myself of a brilliant film.
Even if you’re still in bed, let’s hear from you, and then together we can all move forward with our day. Happy reading, writing, and connecting.
Cheers,
Jess
Here’s to the next trip to Ireland. 💚
Hope you are doing well now.
