Yesterday was 71 degrees and sunny! Cornhole season 2022 between The Snugs (me and my husband) and The Tweets (my parentals) began. This may seem silly, but it’s actually very serious. During the height of the pandemic and pre-vaccines, we only saw my parents in their backyard about once a week wearing masks and socially distancing. I didn’t hug my parents for 398 days. (That still doesn’t seem real.) I came up with the idea of buying personalized cornhole sets during this time so we had an activity we could do together safely. We played in 100 degree heatwaves and below freezing temperatures throughout 2020 and 2021. Now it’s tradition and a pretty serious competition, and we can hug!
My husband and I had a boozy Zoom with a friend last night who is getting married in June. He is so considerate of getting us vegan meals and sitting us at a table of like-minded people. Nothing but love for that consideration. Have you ever been to a wedding where you were asking yourself, “Why would they ever sit us with these people, plus there’s nothing for us to eat here?”
I am very thankful to all of you who have recently purchased my book, For Better And Worse. It means so much to me. If you want to hear a teaser from my book, (or just hear my voice for 15 minutes) you can listen to me reading a scandalous chapter below! Happy Saturday!
From sex and family drama to work woes and hangovers, what's on your mind first thing in the morning? Welcome to a safe space to reflect light on three things and share in comments. Happy reading, writing, and connecting!
Cheers,
Jess
And Spring begins 🌻🌻🌻💐💐 The Tweets are not off to a good start in 2022 of 🌽 🕳 season. 😅Wonderful writing. 💚☘️😎
You have totally gotten me to like, and love, corn hole. And how brilliant of you to get those customized boards. Definitely helped shine light on some dark days. Here's to your betrothed friend, and seating you appropriately. Oh yes, I have been seated at a table or two that made no sense, personally (or politically). But in those cases, there were very good bars, fortunately. I look forward to hearing the audio and am so happy that your book continues to sell well! Bravo!
